March 4, 2005, Edge Technologies will present Pi, Pixels,
and Picasso: Math + Computers = Digital Art at the 2005 Kentucky Teaching
and Learning Conference at the Louisville Convention Center. Teachers
all over Kentucky will converge at this event and will be able to visit
booths, attend educational workshops, and meet vendors. This will be Edge
Technologies' first time presenting at the KTLC. June
2004, The
Charlestown, Indiana Library will hold a two week Computer Crafts
program for their five branches in . Oct 3, 2003, Edge Technologies will provide graphics services for the Louisville Youth Opportunity Network (LYON) and YMCA Y-Team for their monthly activity schedule. Oct 3, 2003, The Community at E-main hosted a computer educational event for students in the Louisville Youth Opportunity Network (LYON) organization. Students created digital artwork for a LYON calendar. Edge Technologies offers free personal computer training for the Louisville Chapter of Dress for Success. The Presbyterian Community Center will host three weeks of classes for youth ages 6 - 18 this summer. Each week will revolve around a different theme and students will create computer crafts and multimedia presentations. Muhammad Ali Center hosted students from Fern Creek Elementary in the first World Rhythms...Real People Cutural Arts & Sciences Publication Event. Ten students and their parents participated as science correspondents, photojournalists, and editors in this one-of-a kind event designed and executed by Edge Technologies. Louisville Free Public Library and Edge Technologies are planning to hold digital imaging sessions for teens at the Outpost May 28th. Teens will take digital pictures, learn about digital photography, and create a multimedia montage to publicize the library. Edge Technologies will team up with the Louisville Science Center to host a week-long event for the Whitney Young Scholars. Fifty students in the 8th and 9th grades will learn about careers in science and will chronicle their learning in a 3-D digital presentation. Louisville Visual Arts Association's Artopia has contracted with Edge Technologies to provide graphic arts classes for youth, ages 5-13. Kids will learn techniques in computer graphics, digital design, and animation in this action packed 4 week session. They will collect all of their work into an exciting multimedia production that they will take home with them. Kentucky Gymnastics Academy will offer gym/computer camps this summer for boys and girls age 5 - 12. These camps are packed with games, gymnastics, music, and computer fun. Camp hours are from 10:00 - 3:00 or 7:00-6:00 with the extended day option. Contact KGA at (502) 254-1010 for details. Edge Technologies will team up with the Kentucky Country Day School to provide Extreme Computer Publishing Camps for KCD's Summer Stretch Program. Participants will learn Adobe Photoshop and desktop publishing tools to create their own magazine.
